is because it’s practically the same roadmap as Goodfellas. I think a big part of why this just doesn’t work for the movie overall. There wasn’t anything truly compelling happening onscreen (besides the Nicky/his brother murder scene, that was fucking rough). But when it feels like the movie is stuck in that one way of presentation for nearly THREE SOLID HOURS, I start checking out. This mode is with constant, non-stop period music in the background, narration, a constant feeling of movement, and not giving the audience a chance to breathe and really learn about the characters.Īnd you know what? She’d seen Casino like 5 or 6 times prior, but on this viewing, her opinion completely changed on it. My wife loves both movies.until yesterday. So, I watched Casino yesterday for only the second time ever, yet I’ve seen Goodfellas countless times.
